Writing made fun — and powerful. A new approach to college essay consulting.
We’re a mother-daughter duo passionate about helping your child have fun while crafting powerful college essays. This is our story.
Anne had already been teaching writing for over twenty years when it was time for her daughter St. Clair to apply to colleges. The pair spent countless nights researching colleges, coming up with a targeted list of schools, planning college visits, and learning all about the college application process. Anne comes from a family of academics — both her mother and her stepfather were professors at the University of Maryland, and her father was an all-American scholar-athlete at the University of Virginia — and she’s spent almost her entire adult life teaching writing at the university level. When St. Clair decided she wanted to be the first person from her high school to attend an Ivy League institution, she worked closely with her mom to choose the Ivy she thought would be the best fit — Brown University — and applied early decision. While St. Clair handled her resume, test scores, 4.0 GPA, and college interview, it was only with her mom’s guidance and support that the 17-year-old was able to craft a strong personal statement and supplemental essays. And as it turns out, they make a pretty good team.
